Clarification on Game Rules

There were certain issues with the Asia Non-Pro qualifiers, and we would like to address and clarify them. ProDota2 released qualifier information on the 22nd of April, and it was updated with a new date on the 23rd of April. With the qualifiers on the 27th, teams had ample time to voice out any scheduling conflict, and some of the teams did and their games were resheduled. However, it was regrettable that some teams chose not to turn up, or simply turn up late. It was written in this article that teams will have 15 minutes to join after the game is hosted and announced on the forum, but some teams did not make the games in time and had to forfeit their matches.

There was also a controversy during the finals between  fAze and  WRENCH. A fissure by Earthshaker was blocking WRENCH from entering the base of fAze. The admin decided that fAze will forfeit the game and proceed to the next game.

ProDota2 would like to clear this incident up. It does not matter which side is winning, such behavior is not tolerated and is a violation of our rules, which you can find here. Under In Game Rules, Creep Blocking is not allowed, and a violation of any of our rules correspond to a direct disqualification. After discussing with members of ProDota2, we decided to allow just a forfeit as I personally felt that one moment of wrong should be punished, but also given a chance for redemption. In the end, I was able to persuade for a forfeit.

ProDota2 does not take sides, we merely seek to follow the rules and set up good games for viewers. Everyone should keep in mind that when you sign up for this tournament, you are agreeing to the rules. The rules may be updated, and it is your responsibility to take note. Failure to comprehend with the rules will be incur punishment, possibly disqualification.

Any team that disagree with the rules should not continue competing in this league.

Teams should also remember that the Referees/Admins have final say on all matters.

We hope that this clarification will give all the teams that are participating in this league a better understanding.
